What I wore on Christmas Day

Hello readers! I had such an amazing Christmas this year. We celebrated it first with my family at my grandmother's house then with the BF's family at his mom's house. No I did not bake that pie, but it was just too perfect not to photograph with! I baked messy cookies that tasted great but looked like a Betty Crocker reject made them.

This dress was my Christmas present to myself. I had pined for it for quite some time, so I decided it would be my Christmas present to me. I love it so much it hurts :)

Dress: Modcloth

The New Year is coming up soon. One resolution I'm making? Take more chances. I started blogging to make more friends. Total friends made? 0. x/
Part of the reason is I'm just so. Weird. I get awkward talking to people I didn't grow up with. If I even get the courage to email them at all. This year I will suck it up and grow a pair.
After all it's a big ol' world out there, and someone somewhere is waiting to meet me :)

Christmas is coming and I'm still a kid.

At least at heart. I'm sitting here watching Disney's holiday "FaLaLalidays" Christmas episodes. Currently Jessie is on. I'm not ashamed.

My lovely BF has been spoiling me rotten. So far I've got two Christmas presents early.
One was a new white Furby!

I tried to photograph her but her eyes glow so I have to take a pic when she's sleeping.
Her name is Snow.

I also got a pair of "Punch" L.A.Gear sneakers. And they are BRIGHT, like a bright orange/pink! Pics later:)

The closer it gets to Christmas, the happier I am. I have Christmas eve and Christmas, and New Year's Eve, and New Year's off and I'm pretty darn excited!
Also, I love seeing everyone's face when they see what I got them<3
I don't mind getting presents either haha.
I just know next year is going to be incredible.

Well, gotta go! A.N.T. Farm is on!

All I Want For Christmas: Style Edition

Christmas is fast approaching, and while I can't get everything I want, if a very rich Santa wanted to make my closet wish come true, this is what I'd want:

I have been eyeing this Modcloth dress since it came on the site.
Maybe with their recent sale, I'll finally get it!

Although these will never EVER be in my price range;
A girl can dream, right?

I need this biker jacket! It's mint!

This bunny dress is cute without being too childish.

This dress is out of stock in my size, but I hope they restock soon!
Airplanes on a dress? Adorbs!

This blazer would fit in my wardrobe beautifully!

On the rare occasion I do wear jeans, they have to be unique.
These definitely fit the bill.

This floral dress. <3<3<3

Expect more of my Christmas lists as we get closer to Christmas! I have NO idea what I'm getting, for the most part, so I'm going to do a lot of speculating. I've finished my gift shopping, and now I'm just crossing my fingers that my fam will love what I picked out for them.

What's on your wishlist this year?

My Little Black Dress and Me

Hello!

Goodness it's been a busy week. I worked 50 hours this week, which meant I've slept ate and worked. And then repeated. So here's some outfit pics from Thanksgiving!

( Excuse the worst then normal cell phone pic quality. Little light, a bf who didn't feel like taking pictures, and the overall rush of Thanksgiving made me do it :) )

Dress: I've had forevveerrr and I have no idea where I got it.
Shoes: Forever 21
Brooch: Ebay

Why do my eyes never show up in pictures??

I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving! Christmas is just around the corner <3 It's my favorite holiday, and luckily I finished most of my Christmas shopping early so I get to enjoy that holiday feeling.
Expect lots of Christmasey posts this month!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Same dress, different girl?

Getting smaller :) And before I hear crap about how this is stolen, Whyweightanotherminute is my tumblr account. In case anyone wants to know I've lost a total of 28 lbs now! <3<3 Also this is a bit of an outfit post. I love this dress. The first pic was taken June 24th, the other one was taken 11/11/12. I have a thing about one shouldered anything, they can't cover the shoulder with my tattoos. I just hate it. This one doesn't cover, and you can't tell but it has little black stars on it... *sigh* The dress is from Primark via Ebay and the boots are from Torrid via Fatshionxchange. I hate buying firsthand, canya tell? lol

Have a super weekend everyone!

I Voted!

Although I won't say who I voted for, I will say, for the first time ever, I did vote. I'm 20 so this is the first time I've got to vote for our new president and I was ecstatic to be able to make my voice heard.... Except I'm in Florida. I think they are STILL counting our ballots lol. Oh well :) Election is over now, so lets support our new president, Barack Obama! Here's some pics of me with my sticker :)

My little brother "voted" too! That is, he got a free sticker :p

Here's to the simple freedom of voting.

Eshakti wants you to save $25 the first time you shop with them!

Dear readers,

It really has been such a long time. Too long really. But the past few months I haven't had a moment to breathe, and I definitely didn't have any reasons to blog as of new. I wanted to come back with a bang! And I think I finaally can. To start off, Eshakti has given me a wonderful opportunity.

If you've been waiting for an awesome opportunity to shop with Eshakti, this would be it! I personally love them, especially buying from their overstock section, and clearance. You know me, I love a good sale!

Check it out, and let me know what you're experience is like!

Keeping healthy

So a few months ago, I began my lifestyle change, and began working out and eating cleaner. The results have been great! I've lost a little bit of weight, and I have so much more energy! For more info see my Fitblr; http://whyweightanotherminute.tumblr.com/. Here's a before and after pic.

Now because I'm on a weight loss journey does not mean I do not believe that plus size isn't beautiful or that I wasn't beautiful when I was heavier. I wanted to be healthier and for that to happen, I had to lose weight.
I love all of ya'll!!!!

My Blog

Will be going through a little make over. When I started this blog my mind was bent on it being a fashion blog. But my life isn't all about fashion and sometimes I just don't feel like talking about dresses. (Shocker I know!) So I'm redoing my blog from the ground up. Give it a few days, since this will be a big renovation. I'm so excited! I can't wait to revamp and redo! Woot Woot!

Sky high.

I've been in a print mood lately... But not really in a taking pics mood. So here's two different outfits for you... This is an adorable Lightning strikes dress by Amanda Bynes. Her fashion line may be long gone, but this dress is too cute for words (If not a bit low cut!) It's also super comfy :D

                                                     Dress: Dear by Amanda Bynes
                                                        Tank Top: Dollar store

                                                         And the second one?

Dress: Primark

See the stars?? I love that :) This dress is just adorable and my current new favorite. One day I will put a proper OOTD for it. But for now this will do.
I love any one shouldered clothing that shows off my tatts <3
And it's super figure flattering<3<3<3

Yesterday was exactly one month till my 20th birthday! I'm so excited. Eeep!

You are beautiful no matter what they say...

Sometimes you may not realize how pretty you genuinely are. What I'm here to say Dear readers, is that each and every one of you is beautiful in their own way. And sometimes, you may need to remind yourself that. I know I did a few weeks back. But I picked my own silly way to do it. I got professional pictures done :) Because no one is quite as good at showing us our best outer beauty (And we all have that, after all inner beauty will  shine through on the outside!) as a talented pro photographer. This pictures were taken by the lovely Brittney, who is currently working at Cady and Cady studios.  If you live in FL and want to hit her up for pics, let me know and I'll send you her deets :)

The dress is easily my favorite dress ever and it is from Dorothy Perkins <3 The shoes are from F21.

Let the birds fly day or night

This skirt. Oh this skirt. It's beautiful flowy and so versatile! I love it so. And of course I had to dress it up and down. So here ya go!

Close-up of the print

Casual:

Shirt: MTV brand via Fatshionnxchange
Heels: Idk?? lol I think Yard sale

Headband: Charming Charlie

This skirt is so flowy and pretty and makes me spin! And I love how the shirt has birds on a wire to tie the whole outfit theme together. I was just running to do errands so this is a fairly comfy comfort over cuteness ratio.

Nighttime:
Top/Dress: Forever 21 plus
Puppy: Leo the cutest thing ever

This top is actually a sparkly dress from Forever 21 +. Woohoo versatile wardrobes!
I wish I had more pics but unfortunately I was worn out.

So Whatchya Think?

Moving and the adorableness of cupcakes :)

Happy Sunday blog readers!

For the past month or so I have been MOVING!!!! :))) To a lovely apartment with my Bf. Mr.J. It's a beautiful fairly big one bedroom apartment with a pool just a few steps away :) And when it is all decorated and pretty I will put up pics. Right now there are boxes everywhere! I never knew I had so much stuff! And clothes are everywhere too lol. But Oh well, all will be sorted with time.

My outfit is actually from Tuesday, an adorable outfit that I made to be appropriate for work haha.

Headband:Charming Charlie
Jacket: Forever21 +
Dress: Domino Dollhouse
Shoes: Rackroom Shoes

This Dress. THIS Dress. Oh this dress... :) When I first saw this dress on Domino Dollhouse's website I fell in love. But alas, at the time, money was tight and I let it go... But NOW IT'S MINE! Thanks to Fatshionxchange, this delectable Cupcake Cutie dress is mine! Sure it's missing the bow, but idc. It is still an amazing fit :) And it has little hand sown sprinkle beads! <3 This matches beautifully with my current addiction to everything quirky yet adorable.
Makin' it work appropriate! Sorta!

Close-up of my *sprinkles*

Readers I'm back and better than ever with tonnnsss of new clothes :) So get ready!

The Hunger Games :D

So I saw The Hunger Games on the day it was released. As an avid fan of the books, (I've read all three!) I was super excited for this movie... And it was amazing! The only negative? They left out a whole character, Madge. I guess she isn't super important but I loved her character in the book. : / Otherwise, it was brought to life about as good as it possibly could be done. Now for my outfit...

"You Love Me, Real or not real?"
                                                                      "Real"

Military Jacket: Target
Shorts: Old Navy
Boots:Torrid
I realize it's on the line between Streetwalker and District 12 chic. but I love it :)
Why not push the line between sexy and skanky sometimes?
Just don't end up like this:
Happy Tuesday!

My life: A Personal post

I'm sorry for such a long break..... Sometimes when you love someone, you have to take a step back and reevaluate your relationship. My Fiance and I did just that recently.

We both are very different. I'm very city chic as I call it (He calls it spoiled lol); he is much more country. Raised differently, with different tastes and preferences, our relationship is full of compromise. He is my best friend no matter what. And because we're young, we've decided not to get married for a few more years. As much as I do believe he will be the guy I marry, living together for a year has shown us how different we really are. So a few years to learn how to compromise more and be the best and strongest couple we can be :)

Adjusting and canceling plans was tough. But it's best in the long run, and I really do believe in the end it will strengthen us.

So now I'm back :D More outfit posts soon and even some more personal posts most likely. I look forward to making my blog and my life better and bigger and just as great as I want it all to be.

So Much has happened....

This week has been crazy, not all good crazy, but not all bad either. So I'm taking a short blogger break to cope and regroup. I'll be back real soon I promise. Sincerely, Me

Wedding : More details on the dress

Ok I feel like as a blogger I've been holding out... I barely discussed my wedding dress, most likely since I was in shock after I posted my dress post. Give me some slack, I posted a day or so after I bought the dress. So here's some more details about that faithful day, in chronological first person short story form.....

Once upon a Saturday...
I was ready. I had all of my favorite dresses for Davids Bridal and Alfred Angelo picked out. Yes I realize there are more stores then that for wedding dresses but I absolutely HAD to try on my dress, and as a plus size girl you're limited. I just could not see myself holding a dress to my body and going "Yep that looks good I'll take that" Not for my wedding dress. So those were the only two places I had made appointments at. I woke up, mailed some things off, got ready, grabbed my strapless bra and I was out the door. I called my mom to confirm that she was ready... Only to find out apparently my sister had just woke her up ten minutes ago. Great. So I head to her house, helped her get ready, helped my sister get ready, helped my little cousin (an unexpected guest since he's 4 but he proves his usefulness later on) get ready and we were off. At 10:40. To my DB appointment which was at 11:00 and 45 minutes away from where we live. I was (Silently) panicking. Luckily we were only 10 or so minutes late. I rush in to a busy store, waited for my associate to meet me. Well the first lady I met was ecstatic to meet me. VERY ecstatic. The kind of lady who may mean well, but is just wayyy too excited for me to feel comfortable around. When I told her I had a pinterest list of all the dresses I loved and style #s at DB, I thought she was going to have a heart attack. "Yay I love Pinterest too! Pinterest sisters!" Oh gosh. Unfortunately (Luckily) she had another bride who needed her help and couldn't help me out. She handed me over to another associate Cindy, in such a way that Cindy asked if the other associate and I knew each other. "Nope" When I looked for my beautiful well charted Pinterest list I was saddened to see that in this morning's rush I had left it in my car. We had all taken my mom's car. Oh well. Cindy was absolutely amazing. She was polite but not fake, listened to everything I wanted, gave me that, and then gave me what she thought I may like. When I told her my budget ($1300) she told me "So basically you have the store to choose from" Yay :) Shopping without checking tags was something I had always wanted to do but had never been able to do. Cross that off my bucket list :).

Then the dress shopping began.  My mom did something unexpected. Her and my MOH became "Those" guests. The ones who run and pick out dresses that are more their styles then mine, and are usually at the price THEY think I should spend. *Sigh* Even Cindy looked a little shocked at some of the dresses they were pulling. Not at all my style. Oh well tried a few on to humor them. Then on to the next one. The dress I loved (see past post for pics) was the second to last out of what felt like a billion but was probably closer to ten that I tried on. I saw myself in the mirror and gasped. No tears, but definitely shocked. Especially when my mind started looking for flaws; in my appearance, in the dress, something; and FOUND NONE. But when I looked at my mom, just like with every other dress I had tried on, she had no reaction. When I asked her if something was wrong, she just said her back hurt. Now my mom has bad back issues so I don't think she was lying. I just wish she would've got a little more excited. Dang TLC for making me believe mothers should cry when they see the dress! She did say that she liked this dress more than the other ones, so I took that as a sign. When i asked Cindy how much was the dress, ( neither of us had been price checking lol) it ended up being $748 or so give or take on sale. Wayyyy below budget. After asking for the time, (Neither of us had been checking that either. Whoops!) I decided I wanted to try on one more form fitting dress drama dress and then I knew I would be done. We were ten minutes OVER my appt. end time, but my dutiful associate ran off to find one last dress. With the final dress, in which I looked about 3 months prego (That's hot) I was done. Off to lunch we went :). At promptly 2:30 we were at Alfred's. The place was beautiful huge full of dresses my size. The desk lady told me someone would be right with us. We gazed through the plus size range of dresses dreamily and picked out ones we loved... then we waited. And waited. And looked at BM dresses and waited again. At promptly 3:10 ish we were finally matched with a consultant, a little 5 foot girl who asked me what I was looking for and for my price. Now at this point in the story I would like to give myself a pat in the back. I did not snap or yell or complain about how long it took or when I was holding most of the dresses or even when they did not have undergarments for me to try on with my dresses like DB did. I simply smiled, showed her the ones I liked and was off. The girl had not been consulting for very long. That much was obvious. She took forever to get me in a dress, and honestly I could've probably tried on dresses quicker without her. At DB they managed to get me into size 12 dresses with the magic of clips and an awesome associate. At Alfred's they couldn't manage to get me into a size 16. Hmm. Finally I found one I liked and almost compared to the one. The style was very similar and all in all it was a pretty dress. But it was a hundred dollars more than the other dress, and was VERY plain. For some reason though I kept mulling over this dress that was obviously not me. It fit me well, and the tulle was pretty. But it wasn't me! But it looks great! But I like bling! I was fighting with myself. Looking back on it, I think I had just always imagined myself to be an Alfred's bride, that being a DB bride seemed traitorish. Oh well. One more dress, ( my mom's pick) and we were done. Now my mom had told me in the car that she always imagined me in something more traditional. I however always imagined me in something different. I'm not traditional why should I look it? So when my mom picked out what I call the Belle dress for me to try on I should've seen this coming. It was pretty, the top almost looked like the top of the dress I loved at DB but the bottom had pickups. I HATE pickups. Some people can pull them off I can't. They remind me of a comforter, as in the blanket you put on your bed. My mom loved that dress. I hated it. Hate hate hate hate hate. I couldn't get over the pickups. I felt so sad because I wanted my mom and I to love the same dress and I couldn't ever love this dress. Even though my mom told me she loved this and the DB dress equally, I knew it was a lie. But I also knew I couldn't get it if I hated it. So back to DB we went to try on the dress one more time. This time my dad was there. HE actually cried when he saw it. I knew I had made the right choice and I bought it.

What I learned from this experiences were two things :
A. To go with your gut. I knew when I had it on, I just was afraid to committ.

B. I look great in wedding dresses lol. Most of the dresses I tried on looked good on me, just not perfect. If I had decided to settle before trying on dresses I would've had a dress in ten minutes. The important thing is never to settle, and to always go after what you love. :D

WOW WHAT HAPPENED TO THE BLOG!!!!

Haha If you can't tell or this is your first time coming here, I'd like to let you know we've went through a complete renovation... That's right SJE has been revamped :) I just felt like it needed a more "Original" blog look now that my little blog is slowly but surely blossoming :) So I hope ya'll like it!!!!!!!!!

2/26/12

Wedding : I bought my dress!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I have bought the dress of my dreams. Or really the dress of my unexpected dreams.... It is not at ALL what I expected to wear. I could've sworn I was going to pick a form fitting dress with lots of Va Va VOOM! Instead, I picked a beautiful "Cinderella" type of dress :)

If you want to see pics, I have them posted here :http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/i-found-my-dress-and-it-was-soo-not-what-i-expected

My Fiance said if he saw the dress he wouldn't marry me ( He's half joking... I think lol) He's really superstitious about it. So I figured since my blog is easier to find then a post on a wedding website, I'm not going to post pics of it on here. If he sees them now, that's totally his fault :D

Let me know what you think!!!!! I'm so happy with it. It's just so sparkly. and I will be making the bottom part a bit more fuller to emphasize the tulle, by wearing a super poufy slip :)

THE CUPCAKE DRESS/ TOP FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!

To say this is long overdo is an understatement. And for that, my dear readers, I am truly sorry
  However It's finally here!!!!!!
Excuse the crazy eyes. It's in all of the pics for some crazy reason :)
Jeans: Torrid

I love this outfit more than words can successfully say. If I didn't think eventually it would start to smell, I would never take it off. Yep it's that perfect. At first I was worried my beloved cupcake dress custom ordered for me, would never work. It was my fault, I had totally forgotten to check my measurements and as you can see it is much too short to be used as a dress. But when my order from Torrid came in ( Hot pink jeans on clearance :) ) came in, I felt hope once again. And luckily the pinks are very close in color. This outfit just screams JENNY PICKED ME OUT! It's bright and unusual and in your face but still pretty and sweet and perfect. *Sigh*As for shoes? Well I'll find a pair that match eventually. We stayed in for V-day so I didn't have to worry about them lol
Cupcake pocket!!!!!!!!!!!
Closeup of the print.

On a side note: I really need a better indoor place to take pictures at. The lighting in my room is awful and while I have a beautiful background outside, I get home after sunset and leave for work before sunrise most days of the week, making an indoor photo spot a necessity.

So what do you think of the outfit??

2/17/12

OOTD: I'm sexy and I know it

Ok. I know. I've been slacking. Or specifically Mr. Fiance has. On Valentine's day both of us forgot(!!) to take pics of my outfit. And we've both had a busy stressful week. So he hasn't really been in the mood to take pictures. Also, his lack of knowledge about this blog does not help. Oh weelll. I will have that outfit post before Monday. I Pinkie Swear :)

This outfit I wore while shopping. The looks I got were 1/4 approving ( Thank you to the sweet older black ladies who smiled at me and commented that that was how you dress to impress) 1/2 disapproving (Mostly middle-aged women who I would like to believe were just jealous of my youth :D) and 1/4 creepy ( Some dude whistled at me while I was walking into a gas station!!  Not cool.) I felt confident in it though, so despite the mixed reviews I'll probably wear it again.

Face is hidden, but I still love this pic because somehow this mirror makes me look thinner!
Or it's probably the outfit lol.

Camera phone pics are reallly hard to take!!!

Finally you can see my face!!!! I do wear glasses, if I have to drive anywhere
I should always wear them.... But I don't
Jacket: Target
Headband: Claires
Glasses: Lenscrafters :p

Shoes: Ebay

Corset: Torrid via Fatshionxchange
Skirt: Lane Bryant

I was inspired by this post by the lovely Sarah from Big Hips Red Lips, who most likely has no idea I even exist but who's blog I absolutely adore. I have loved the idea of using a corsetish or longline bra as a top since the first time I saw this post but wasn't able to find anything that would work well outside of the bedroom, and that was my style. So when I found the perfect under/over-garment on Fatshionxchange I about died, I wanted it soo so bad. I believe every girl, plus sized or skinny, tall or short, is sexy and should know it :) So embrace it!
